Is Design a Piece of Cake?
Art Direction, Photography

This project involved developing a question in relation to design. What exactly is design and how do we respond to it? The question itself had to visually represented and I decided to play on the typographic elements of the words within the question “is design a piece of cake?” and create the letterforms using baking essentials. In doing so, the design holds both visually and conceptually.
The outcome also explores deeper questions of design by challenging  effortlessness and complexity, where the two juxtapose each other to bring this piece itself together. The answer to the question lies in the design itself, whereby design is not really a piece of cake, but making it look like it is, is the very goal of designing.
